Rasberry Wheat Head to Head

#1-
Head: It was light and disappeared quickly.

Color: A nice golden color that had a slight
murkiness almost a white ale look.

Body: lightly carbonated and real easy drinking.

Scent: You get a nice wheat scent, and of
course a nice raspberry scent.

Taste: This one isn't that sweet a raspberry
beer. Also for being a wheat fruit beer it
had a nice hop presence too.

#2-

Head: The head was another quick disappearance.

Color: A very murky red color to this one.

Body: Much more carbonated and a little fuller body.

Scent: Raspberry is all you smell off this one from the top.

Taste: The strong flavor of the Raspberry mixed
with the super sweet malts make this a Raspberry
soda.

This was a quick and easy battle. One was a nice ballenced beer having hops and malts even though it was a raspberry beer. The other was far to sweet and really offered overwhelming raspberry! Southern Tier raspberry wheat beer is the winner by far!

Pale Ale Head to Head

#1-
Head: A nice thick fluffy head on this one stuck around for a good while.

Color: A nice golden color in the glass. Slightly murky but lets light through.

Body: Quite thin bodied and lightly carbinated.

Scent: A grassy hoppy scent off the top.
The malt is a clean sweet malt scent.

Taste: Lots of hop charicter in this one.
Pine citrus and earthy tones come through.
The malts one this one come through as a nice
slightly biscuit flavor.

#2-

Head: Bout one finger worth of head on this one. didn't last long.

Color: A dark copper color very murky.

Body: Thin and lightly carbonated.

Scent: Slight piney/citrus scent off the top of the glass.

Taste: Super hoppy pale ales today. This one
had some nice tones of citrus, pine, and grass.
Alot of different hop tastes but not to much malt
backing

As a pale ale fan this one is hard. This mustache loves the hops. Both of these brought that. One of them though, just didn't balance that nice hop character with the malts. Today's winner is number one. Dale's Pale Ale!

Nut Brown Head to Head

#1-
Head: Fluffy again and stuck around the top of the glass for a good while.

Color: Light color brown and again light passes through.

Body: This one was the thicker bodied of the
two. Nice full feel in the mouth

Scent: A nutty caramel scent off this one.

Taste: This one had layers. You got roasted malts
and caramel malts in this full body. On top of that
is the nutty kick. The hops in this one were
mellow.

#2-

Head: Fluffy but didn't really last that long.

Color: Light color brown almost read. Light passes through.

Body: pretty average body to this one.

Scent: Not to strong malt
scent accented by a nuttiness.

Taste: This nut brown is as advertised. Quite
nutty and slightly bitter. Not to much of a
sweetness kick. The hops are light and give a earthy tone.

Beer two was fairly boring. Not really the type of thing I'd seek out again. Number one though has a great taste and is rounded out well. So obviously number one wins this round, ending the number two streak of beers on here. Goose Island nut brown wins!

Pilsner Head to Head

#1-
Head: Fluffed up quick and disappeared. little trace on the edges from there on out.

Color: A bright yellow gold. Light passes through easily and can bee seen through.

Body: Light, Very thin and easy drinking.

Scent: A malt scent off the top and a slight hoppyness. More floral or grassy.

Taste: Very light but crisp. Nice bit of wheat
tasting malts. The hops come out and bitter it
much more then most pilsner.

#2-

Head: Slightly fluffy, hung around on the top of the glass for most the beer.

Color: A darker golden color, still can be seen through, light passes easily through.

Body: Light and smooth another easy drinker.

Scent: A bit more of a sweet malt scent off this one. Earthy hop scent too.

Taste: A nice almost biscuity taste to the malts. The hops have a nice earthy slightly piney taste
that lingers. Also more hoppy then most pilsners.

This was the hardest fight thus far. I love both these beers. The tastes of malt and hops are blended well and leave little to be desired. One just seemed to have a crisper profile then the other. So it's number two that wins and gives me what I want in a pils. Sam Adams Noble Pils Wins!

Hefeweizen Head to Head

#1-
Head: Started fluffy and disappeared quick.

Color: Golden slightly murky light passes fairly  easy.

Body: Light and easy drinking

Scent: A nice wheat scent of malts, a little citrus too.

Taste: Malty and light. This one has a nice little spice taste from the yeast. A light citrus note is where the hops comes in.

#2-
Head: Slightly fluffy disappeared quick also.

Color: Golden and slightly murky light passes through fairly easy.

Body: Another light and easy drinking beer.

Scent: You smell a nice spicy malt mix. You get tones of yeast and malts when you smell this one.

Taste: This one has a nice banana flavor to the yeast that comes through. You also get a nice spicy tone. The malts have a nice wheat taste.
Not much hop presence.

I enjoyed both of these but one was a great summer beer the other is a great all around beer. #2 had all the flavors to hold it's own in this battle. Dream Weaver takes this one!

Black IPA Head To Head

#1-
Head: Kind of low slightly fluffy, Stuck around for a good while

Color: Black, no light comes through

Body: Full and quite thick

Scent: Sweet caramel, toffee scent

Taste: Malts galore here, Leaving you with a main taste of coffee and chocolate not much hop.

#2-
Head: Kind of low not to fluffy, nothing but a film quickly

Color: Black no light comes through

Body: Fairly thin

Scent: Nice hoppy scent not to much of a malt scent

Taste: A slight coffee tone that is accompanied by a strong hop presence.

These were both great beers. Both having a nice coffee taste weighed on me, but based on what a Black Ipa is supposed to be, I think that #2 is a better beer. Black Cannon blows the competition out of the water!

Head To Head

Here's how this will work. Two beers of the same style will be pitted against each other, and my follicles, to see which one is better to this mustache! To keep me from cheating and choosing all my favorites on purpose the Face's Wife will be pouring and serving. Her job has a lot of responsibility but since it's not the Face himself... I know it'll get done. This mustache is to dry... Let's Get It On!
